Relief from political distress, day 85…

Standard

DSC_0725 (3)While out on a walk the other night, we came upon this grouping of beautiful purple flowers; inundated with insects. “What kind of flower is this?” My husband wondered, as we watched several different species of flies along with honey and bumble bees, as well as a couple of different butterflies land and feast upon this beautiful bounty. Noticing our interest in their flowers, the homeowner answered our request for the name of the flower, “That’s ornamental garlic…” She explained. Brushing his hand up against the flower and then lifting it to his nose, my husband concurred. “Yep, exactly what it smells like too,” he agreed.

Ah, it seems these rascals love garlic as much as the rest of us do…

Who knew insects had good taste?
